Our Night Skies

Our Night Skies does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. The app makes no network requests.
To show the sky correctly, the app needs to know where you are. You can either grant location access or enter a location manually — the app works fully either way.
When you grant access, your coordinates are used on your device to calculate the positions of stars, planets, and other objects. Your location is never transmitted, never stored on a server, and never shared with anyone. It exists only in the app's memory while the app is running. You can revoke access at any time in visionOS Settings.
Our Night Skies uses visionOS world sensing to tell where you are looking, so it can label the object in front of you. This happens entirely on your device. The app never receives camera images or a scan of your surroundings — visionOS does not make them available to apps.
A small number of preferences, such as your sky brightness choice, are saved locally on your device. They are not personal information, are never transmitted, and are removed when you delete the app.
If you have chosen to share diagnostics with developers in your Apple device settings, Apple may pass along anonymous crash reports. These describe the technical circumstances of a failure and do not identify you. They reach us through Apple, and Apple's handling of that information is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Our Night Skies collects no data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. If a future version of the app ever collects data, that change will be described here before it takes effect.
